Tauck said it will add the Seine River in 2025 to its lineup of year-end holiday market cruises, part of its operational expansion in France.
An eight-day cruise starts with three days and two nights in Paris, with visits to the city's Christmas markets, including those in the Tuileries Garden, where guests can shop for local crafts and sample hot mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, sausages, cheeses and chocolates.
Guests will have a choice of visits to discover medieval works of art at the Cluny Museum or see the 13th century stained glass windows of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle.
From there, the cruise heads to Rouen, Les Andelys and Vernon, with highlights along the way including a private tour and a holiday cocktail party at the opulently decorated Château de Bizy, which was built in 1740 and is still privately owned by a descendant of Napoleon.
Guests will also enjoy a private lunch and afternoon tea at Château Vaux-le-Vicomte, also decorated for the season, with time to explore the 100-room moated palace and formal gardens.
In Normandy, there will be more Christmas markets, followed by a choice of guided visits, to either Normandy's historic D-Day beaches or the Rouen Fine Arts Museum.
Tauck will offer five departures of The Seine: Holiday Magic cruise aboard its Sapphire riverboat at prices starting at $4,490 per person.
The new holiday cruise, Tauck's first in France, is the latest in the continued expansion of Tauck's river cruising presence in the country. In late October, the company announced that it would take delivery of two riverboats for cruises along the Rhone and Seine.
The ships, one planned for 130 and another for 124 passengers, are expected to be ready for the 2026 river cruise season.
Tauck said this will be its fifth Christmas market-themed river cruise. It joins two holiday cruises on the Danube as well as holiday cruises on the Rhine and the waterways of Belgium and Holland.
