FORT LAUDERDALE -- MSC Cruises has added a new level, Blue Diamond, to its Voyagers Club loyalty program.
Guests reach the Blue Diamond tier at 25,000 points. The previous top tier, Diamond, is reached at 10,000 points.
The news was announced by Erin Douglas, the line's vice president of field sales, during a breakfast at Travel Weekly's CruiseWorld event sponsored by MSC.
Blue Diamond features several new perks, including access to the MSC Yacht Club's lounge at check-in and luggage drop-off at the lounge. Access to the lounge is otherwise reserved for guests staying in the Yacht Club, MSC's luxury ship-within-a-ship product.
Blue Diamond guests also get My Choice dining in the main restaurant, a complimentary Browse internet package, shuttle-bus tickets in certain ports and a meet-and-greet with the ship's captain or officer.
And Blue Diamond guests receive all the Diamond level perks, which include priority boarding and disembarkation, a tasting-menu dinner in a specialty restaurant, courtesy bathrobe and slippers for use during the cruise and access to the exclusive Diamond Party during the cruise.
The line extended all Voyagers Club memberships from three to five years, which it said would give guests more time to move through tiers to access more benefits.
