Few & Far, a new ecoconscious luxury safari brand, is set to open a six-suite ecolodge within South Africa's Vhembe Biosphere Reserve in the Soutpansberg Mountains in early 2025.
The lodge, Few & Far Luvhondo, aims to redefine the safari experience with a number of innovative offerings. Central to this is its "Solfari," a solar-powered aerial cable car system providing guests with a roughly 25-mile game-viewing perspective above the treetops. This silent, ecofriendly transportation enables visitors to observe wildlife and take in the mountain range from a bird's-eye view.

Few & Far Luvhondo will also focus on culinary experiences, featuring a comprehensive farm-to-table program. Travelers can look forward to multicourse bush dinners paired with South African wines, cookout breakfasts, traditional boma braais (barbecues) and foraging excursions. The majority of produce will be sourced from the lodge's on-site farm, ensuring peak freshness and seasonality.
Sustainability at its core
Few & Far says sustainability is at the core of its mission. As a participant in the Verra Registered Carbon Program, the lodge aims to sequester over 100,000 tons of carbon annually through rewilding efforts. This commitment extends beyond environmental protection to active regeneration of the local ecosystem.

The lodge will offer a range of activities including guided game drives, bush walks, bird-watching, overnight excursions to sleep under the stars, mountain biking and stargazing. Cultural immersion programs, such as a "conservationist for a day" experience, will allow travelers to participate in the lodge's conservation efforts.
Wellness also plays a significant role in the Luvhondo experience. The lodge will offer a variety of spa treatments using locally sourced ingredients, complemented by the soothing sounds of nature. A meditative labyrinth walk will provide guests with an opportunity for introspection and relaxation.
