JetBlue on May 22 will launch transatlantic flights from Boston to Madrid and Edinburgh, Scotland.
The daily flights will operate seasonally on Airbus A321 long-range aircraft; service will end on Oct. 24.
The A321s feature JetBlue's Mint premium cabin with fully lie-flat seats in a private suite and restaurant-style small plates curated by Delicious Hospitality Group's New York City restaurants Charlie Bird, Pasquale Jones and Legacy Records.
JetBlue said the new Boston flights support its strategy to build an optimum East Coast leisure network and return to sustained profitability. Next summer, JetBlue will operate seven daily nonstops to Europe from Boston. Edinburgh and Madrid will join seasonal service from Boston to Amsterdam, Dublin and London Gatwick, and year-round flights to London-Heathrow and Paris.
From New York, JetBlue serves Dublin and Edinburgh seasonally, while Amsterdam, London Heathrow and Paris are served year-round. Based on their popularity, routes to Dublin and Edinburgh have been extended this year to the end of October, a month later than the previous year, JetBlue said.
Last week, JetBlue announced it would no longer fly between New York and London Gatwick.
"Since launching flights to London in 2021, we've thoughtfully adjusted our European service to maximize value for our customers and our business," said Daniel Shurz, JetBlue's head of revenue, network and enterprise planning.
