Silversea Cruises is building out its Antarctica expedition experience with a 150-room hotel in Puerto Williams, Chile.

The hotel, which Silversea said would be the southernmost hotel on Earth, will serve as a stopping point for the cruise line's guests on their way to Antarctica. Silversea homeports at Puerto Williams during the Antarctica season.

Silversea said the hotel initially will serve guests who buy fly-cruise packages from the line, and that it will "evaluate ways to enrich the experience for all our guests journeying to Antarctica."

Silversea said the hotel will echo the line's personalized service and feature a restaurant that can accommodate group gatherings. There will be a bar and lounge, a fitness center and a gift shop stocking the work of local artisans.

The hotel will overlook the Beagle Channel, surrounded by forest. Guests will have a view of the water and the mountains of Patagonia.

The hotel will be built in partnership with Chilean investors and is expected to be completed in 2025.
