Melia Hotels International and tennis superstar Rafael Nadal are bringing their lifestyle hotel brand Zel to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Expected to open on Dec. 12, the 190-room Zel Punta Cana is a rebranding of the Garden Suites By Melia. The all-inclusive resort, which has undergone a renovation, features a variety of accommodation categories ranging in size from 796 to 2,152 square feet, including a two-bedroom Casa Zel Swim-Up Suite with terrace and whirlpool.
Guests will have access to six culinary venues, including a Mediterranean-style buffet, a Mexican and Greek fusion concept, a Japanese restaurant and a beach club.
Other amenities will be two swimming pools, five tennis courts, meeting spaces, a spa and a gym. The property will offer special programming via its Zel Club wellness and entertainment platform, including curated weekend retreats, festivals and day parties.
The Zel Punta Cana is Zel's third property, following the brand's 2022 launch in Mallorca and the 2023 opening of the Zel Costa Brava in Spain. It's also the flag's first all-inclusive resort.
Melia Hotels and Nadal joined forces to debut the Mediterranean-inspired Zel concept in late 2022.
