Pleasant Holidays has named Jack
Richards to replace Tim Irwin as president and CEO, effective Aug.
1.
Irwin originally
announced his plans to retire in December and will step down after
nearly six years at the helm of the Westlake Village, Calif.-based
Pleasant Holidays.
Richards comes to
Pleasant Holidays with more than 20 years industry experience, most
recently with Hotels.com, where he was senior vice president,
product marketing and strategy. He had also served as president and
CEO at The Leisure Company, CEO at Adventure Tours and vice
president, tour operations at ATA.
"[Richards']
experience working with traditional travel agencies and online
agencies will continue to strengthen Pleasant Holidays
"partnerships with our key accounts," Irwin said in a
statement.
Richards will
relocate from Texas to California, near the company's
headquarters.
