Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is doing away with its Free at Sea and Free at Sea Plus pricing and replacing them with More at Sea, an inclusive package offering more premium-brand alcohols, more specialty dining meals and more minutes to use the ship's WiFi.

The More at Sea package will be available on cruises beginning Jan. 1.

NCL describes More at Sea as more than a new product but a new brand positioning that commits to providing greater variety and elevated offerings.

"There's more to be had, more value, more options for you as a guest to enjoy your cruise," said David Herrera, president of NCL.

What's in Norwegian's More at Sea package?

The More at Sea package will include almost all of the alcoholic beverages currently available on the line's Premium Plus beverage package, like Grey Goose vodka, Casamigos Tequilla and Woodford Reserve bourbon whiskey. Starbucks drinks are available in a separate package.

The new plan will also enable guests to choose from more than 100 included specialty cocktails. Specialty cocktails are currently included in the Unlimited Open Bar package, although there is a per-drink price limit. That limit for specialty cocktails will go away under the More at Sea beverage package, according to a spokeswoman.

The new program will also increase the number of specialty dining meals included. Guests in a balcony cabin will get three specialty dining nights, up from two currently, said Herrera. Guests will also be free to indulge in up to three appetizers and desserts at each sitting. The line will also replace its specialty dining a la carte pricing with a flat cover charge.

Another change regards the line's WiFi product. The line currently offers 150 minutes of complimentary WiFi access for the first and second guests to split on cruises of at least seven days. With the rollout of the program, the line will offer 150 free WiFi minutes for each guest in the stateroom, including thirds and fourths. Additional WiFi packages are also available for purchase.

Like the Free at Sea program, NCL will continue to offer a $50 credit per shore excursion for the first guest, free airfare for the second guest as well as third and fourth guests sailing free on select cruises.

NCL also plans to roll out a mobile app by the end of the year which it said would offer a more intuitive way to browse and make onboard reservations for activities like dining, shore excursions and entertainment, along with making it easier to check in and view the purchase history.

The line plans to debut the Norwegian Aqua in March of next year, followed by the Norwegian Luna in April of 2026.
