Lufthansa will debut its Allegris aircraft interior on May 1.

The long-awaited cabin design will initially be deployed on new Airbus A350 planes, starting with flights connecting Munich with Vancouver. Munich-Toronto will be the second route featuring an Allegris-configured plane, followed over the summer by Munich-Chicago and Munich-Montreal.

Allegris cabins will be the most diversely configured in the sky. Lufthansa had previously said that the business class will have seven distinctly marketed products, though a Tuesday press release made note of just five options. The planes are also to have four distinct economy products and a premium economy cabin.

Airbus A350 Allegris aircraft will eventually have two distinct first-class seats, though Lufthansa's initial Allegris A350s are flying without first class, flight maps show.

Lufthansa had planned to debut its Allegris configuration last fall on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, offering 12 seating products spread across economy, premium economy and business class. However, Boeing delivery delays have postponed those launches.

Lufthansa, along with sister airline Swiss, ultimately plans to offer Allegris interiors in three- or four-class configurations on more than 100 aircraft, including new Dreamliners, A350s and Boeing 777-9s. The carrier will also reconfigure some of its current widebodies, including its Boeing 747-8s.

Travelers can now view seat maps of Allegris flights on Lufthansa booking channels. For the first few months that it flies Allegris A350s, Lufthansa won't charge distinct prices for the varying business-class products.
