Accommodations range from deluxe properties (in the larger cities) to campgrounds, youth hostels and hotels that may be uncomfortable for some travelers. Foreigners are not supposed to stay in the unrated, inexpensive hotels. We highly recommend staying in as deluxe a property as possible. We particularly liked the Grand Abbasi Hotel in Isfahan, an elegant old hotel built around the remains of an ancient caravansary.
