Global Travel Marketplace kicked off this week at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach, and for many of the travel advisor and supplier attendees it marked the first live industry event after months of virtual conferences.
GTM is an appointment-only event that connects top-producing travel advisors with suppliers and mixes one-on-one meetings with small-group presentations and networking opportunities. The event is produced by Northstar Travel Group, Travel Weekly's parent company.
GTM organizers said in June that they had received a record number of applicants, and the nearly 120 available spots for advisors at GTM were filled quickly.
"The energy here is more incredible than ever before," said Alicia Evanko, executive vice president of global events, Northstar Travel Group. "Our industry is back and eager to have a space like GTM to conduct business face-to-face."
