Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy plans to skydive from a World War II-era aircraft next weekend to raise $75,000 for hurricane relief.
Her plan is to tandem skydive on Oct. 19 with a member of the Special Forces, which was part of a challenge to kick off the first-ever Special Forces Legacy Initiative cruise out of Port Tampa Bay.
Donations can be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation, which is supporting military and first responders on the ground working to help communities affected by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.
"Our hearts go out to all those who have been impacted by the devastation
of Hurricanes Milton and Helene. I am so grateful to all
who have donated and continue to step up for hurricane relief efforts as I get
ready to jump from 10,000 feet
above Tampa Bay with members of the Special Forces," said Duffy. "The
outpouring of donations has been heartwarming, and I'm especially honored that
Carnival Corporation chairman Micky Arison and his wife Madeleine have offered
their support by matching funds."
