Discount carrier Avelo will begin international service in November.
The airline also will augment its Connecticut operations with the launch of service from Bradley International Airport north of Hartford.
Avelo will add 18 twice-weekly routes in the fall, including seven from Bradley, facilitated by the addition of two Boeing 737NG aircraft to the fleet.
Avelo's first international routes will be offered at Bradley -- to Montego Bay, Jamaica (Nov. 16) and Cancun (Nov. 20). (Avelo launched its first service outside the continental U.S. last November with a flight from New Haven to Puerto Rico.)
Avelo's five other destinations from Bradley are among the 26 airports the carrier already serves from its primary Northeast base in New Haven, Conn. They include Daytona Beach, Fla.; Houston Hobby; Wilmington, N.C.; Concord, N.C. (approximately 20 miles northeast of Charlotte); and Lakeland, Fla. (approximately 55 miles southwest of Orlando).
Avelo will also beef up its central Florida portfolio. Besides Bradley, the carrier will begin flying to six other airports from Lakeland in late October and early November: Atlanta; San Juan; Rochester, N.Y.; Wilmington, Del.; Manchester, N.H.; and Concord, N.C.
Those services will accompany the existing Avelo route between Lakeland and New Haven as well as the carrier's six routes from Orlando International Airport.
Avelo's other new fall routes include five from Concord, N.C. -- Hartford, Albany, Manchester, Rochester and Wilmington, Del. Avelo also will connect Wilmington, N.C. and Fort Myers, Fla.
