ASTA will produce a multiday, online showcase dedicated to river cruise lines called River Cruise Week.
The inaugural River Cruise Week, which runs Nov. 18 to 22, features seven river cruise lines and is designed to deliver insights into itineraries, ships and key selling points.
"River cruising continues to capture the interest of travelers, and we're excited to offer our members direct access to top brands that they can access from anywhere in the world with an internet connection," ASTA president and CEO Zane Kerby said.
Several river cruise lines will hold sessions: Amadeus River Cruises, AmaWaterways, Globus family of brands and its Avalon Waterways line, Riverside Luxury Cruises, Riviera River Cruises, Van Loon Cruises and Viking.
Over the course of five days, attendees will engage in live educational sessions, each followed by interactive Q&As with river cruise experts, ASTA said.
It said the showcase is a unique opportunity for agents to deepen their product knowledge of several brands at once.
ASTA also said that River Cruise Week is distinct from its popular, in-person River Cruise Expo, which is scheduled for March 12 to 16 in Vienna, but that agents are free to attend both.
