CANNES, FRANCE -- Abercrombie & Kent plans to open the Kitirua Plains Lodge in Kenya's Amboseli National Park in late 2025. Senior vice president of marketing strategy Kate Thompson revealed the news at the ILTM Cannes trade show.
According to Thompson, the lodge will be located near Mount Kilimanjaro and have 16 suites and villas.
Abercrombie & Kent is ramping up its investment in lodges, camps and boats, which, as part of a recent rebranding, operates under the name A&K Sanctuary. Thompson said the group remains on track with plans to rebuild its Gorilla Forest Camp in Uganda, set to reopen as the Gorilla Forest Lodge in May, as well as a reconstruction of Baines' Lodge in Botswana, which is expected to reopen in mid-2025.
Additionally, A&K is expanding its presence in South America with its first Amazon river boat in Peru, debuting next summer.
